Nine years of Space Ibiza On Tour at Greenwich's open-air terrace venue — from the 2015 25th-anniversary closing party to the 2023 Summer Mini-Festival.
If the original Space had one signature, it was the terrace — the long open-air room on Playa d'en Bossa, planes coming in low overhead, the morning sound bleeding into the afternoon and beyond. After the 2 October 2016 closure, the question for the brand was simple: where in the world is there another room like that one? In London, the answer was Studio 338.
Studio 338 sits on Boord Street in the SE10 part of Greenwich, just south of the river. The room itself is large and industrial — sound-engineered enough for Funktion-One, atmospheric enough for big international names — and crucially has a full outdoor terrace attached. Most UK clubs are basements; 338 is a daytime-to-late venue with sky and air. In the entire UK club ecosystem, it is the closest practical analogue to the room Space had on Playa d'en Bossa.
The Space team noticed this early. The partnership did not begin after the 2016 closure — it began the year before.
The relationship between Space Ibiza and Studio 338 started on 8 August 2015, when the original club routed the final stop of its 25th-anniversary world tour to Greenwich. That single night established the format that would carry the brand through the next decade: full Space LED rig flown over the room, terrace-sound programming, dancers, the confetti drop, and a line-up drawn from the same DJ family Space had built across two-and-a-half decades on Playa d'en Bossa.
In 2016, Space committed four further dates to Studio 338. Then the original club closed.
Less than a month before the original Space Ibiza closing, Studio 338 itself was devastated by fire. The building reopened later in 2017 after a substantial rebuild. By the time Studio 338 was back, the original Space had also closed — so the post-closure London relaunch and the post-fire 338 relaunch happened in the same window. The two stories merged: 338 needed a flagship partner, Space needed a flagship London venue, and the partnership that had started in 2015 doubled as both.
The first major post-closure Space Ibiza party in London was "The Legend Continues" at Studio 338 on Saturday 25 November 2017. The branding was direct: this was not a one-off licensing deal, this was Space Ibiza, just elsewhere. The terrace party format ran late and the room was packed. For most attendees it was the first time since the Playa d'en Bossa closing fiesta they had been inside a properly-staged Space night.
The relationship escalated in 2018. On Saturday 16 June 2018, Space and 338 produced what was billed as the first ever Space Ibiza mini-festival: a full-day, all-indoor-and-outdoor event with multiple stages, daytime programming and late finish. Felix Da Housecat and Timo Maas headlined, with a heavy supporting cast.
This was the moment Studio 338 stopped being ‘a London tour stop’ and became the European home of the brand.
The September date that followed brought David Morales — one of the original Space terrace residents from the 1990s — back together with the brand at 338. Tiefschwarz co-headlined. It cemented 338 as the venue where Space could safely book classic-era talent and trust the crowd to know exactly why each name mattered.
Programming continued into 2019 with the "Into the Future" series — the first major Space-Studio 338 fiesta of the year and the start of an annual season-opener pattern. Through 2019 and into 2020, 338 ran multiple Space-branded dates including a major 2020 opening party.
COVID interrupted UK clubbing for the better part of two years. Studio 338 stayed shuttered along with every other UK venue through 2020 and most of 2021. When 338 reopened, Space was there: the 2021 Space Ibiza Opening at Studio 338 sold out. The same audience that had filled the terrace before the pandemic was still there, still wearing Space merch, still showing up on the first night the doors were open again.
By 2023 the format was an annual fixture. The Space Ibiza Summer Mini-Festival at 338 ran the same all-day, all-night, indoor-and-outdoor template established in 2018, with new headliners but the same recipe. The partnership had outlived both the original Playa d'en Bossa room and the COVID hiatus.

The Greenwich residency is the single longest-running international Space Ibiza relationship outside the island itself. It started before the closure, survived the original club's death, survived a venue fire, survived a global pandemic, and is still running. Anybody studying brand-equity stories in club culture should start with this one: nine years and counting, in a single room, with the same audience.

Studio 338 in Greenwich (Boord Street, SE10 0PF). The Space Ibiza On Tour residency at Studio 338 ran from 2015 through to at least the 2023 Summer Mini-Festival — the longest-running international Space residency outside Ibiza.
Studio 338 is one of the few UK venues with a full open-air terrace, designed for daytime-to-late events. Its layout and atmosphere are the closest UK analogue to the original Space Ibiza terrace on Playa d'en Bossa, which is why the Space team adopted it as the European home of the touring brand from 2015 onwards.
Saturday 25 November 2017 — branded "Space Ibiza: The Legend Continues" at Studio 338. It was the first major Space-branded party in London after the original Playa d'en Bossa club closed on 2 October 2016.
The mini-festival headliners alone include Felix Da Housecat, Timo Maas, David Morales and Tiefschwarz. Support and other 338 dates have featured many of the original Space residents and the wider Space Ibiza On Tour DJ family.
The partnership has been documented through to the 2023 Summer Mini-Festival. Future dates depend on the Space and 338 promoter calendars but the relationship has survived the original club's closure, a venue fire and a global pandemic — so the working assumption is that more dates will follow.
